Are Muslims Responsible For the Many Atrocities Terrorists Have Caused?

Image
Courtesy of http://jihad.info/category/islam-and-terrorism The issue of Islamophobia has increased lately. It has been a crucial topic in the 2016 election. More so because of recent terrorist attacks in both France and Belgium. Instead of looking at such issue as something unprecedented, more and more people view the issue as a religious problem when in reality its simply psychologically related. While I may sound sympathetic towards the perpetrators of such cruel acts, the simple truth though it may sound like a futile argument is that these guys are or experienced mental dysfunction. People are more likely to jump to conclusions and state that it all formulated from Islam. If such false statement was true, I grantee you that everyone in the world would be dead within our status quo, if Muslims were all bad. Islam is a religion of approximately about 1.5 billion people. With that large number of people the entire world could be wiped out f

Though the constant attacks are causing security scare world wide it has sparked the issue of immigration yet again. Currently in the United States some states are considering not to allow many Syrian refugees to settle in their states. According to a CNN report about thirty-one states in the United States don't approve of the settlement of Syrian refugees. Among the states include: Arizona, Texas, Alabama, Wisconsin, Michigan and Maine.   This uproar has risen after it was reported that at least one of the suspects of the Paris attacks two weeks ago entered Europe with a group of other Syrian refugees by falsely identifying himself as a Syrian named Ahmad al Muhammad. Eventually, that allowed him to enter Greece early this October.    Politicians and lawmakers who are going to vote on the decisi

A Presidential Visit To Kenya

President Obama signs a visitors book after arriving in Kenyan airport alongside                                                                   the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta. I'm sure everyone  knows about President Obama's historic visit to Kenya both personally and presidentially. The last time he visited the East African country was back in 2006 as Senator Obama. The trip's focus is trade, gay rights and the commitment to fighting terror in East Africa. Obama landed in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on Friday, and was greeted by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta with a handshake and embrace as he stepped off Air Force One.   The President's half-sister Auma was also on the tarmac to welcome him and travel in the bespoke, bomb-proof presidential limousine, nicknamed 'The Beast', for the drive to the hotel in the city centre. At dinner, the president was joined by more relatives, including the woman known a

World Affairs Seminar: Peace Through Understanding

Image
Courtesy of World Affairs Seminar This summer I had the opportunity to spend a whole week dedicated to discussing world issues as one of the hundreds of students chosen as delegates from around the world. The World Affairs Seminar is the vision of Rotarian Dr. Dale Brock, whose visit was to bring about better understanding of world problems among a select group of young people from around the globe. He imagined and built WAS to study current issues. In the course of this study, the WAS provides opportunities for participants to discuss issues with other young people from around the world. Emphasis is on promoting better understanding of the idea that if the cause are understood, problems are more likely to be solved peacefully. The World Affairs Seminar (WAS) is a unique interactive educational program for high school students. The week-long experience provides an opportunity for international students from a variety of back

Is the Justice System Criminalizing Our Children?

Image
Many educational reformers such as the ACLU ( American Civil Liberties Union ), the Advancement Project and Burns Institute state that oppressive school policies and restrictions have created a schoolhouse-to-jailhouse track for students. According to the Advancement Project, "the schoolhouse to jailhouse track is an education problem as much as it is a criminal justice problem. When students are pushed out of school through harsh disciplinary policies, their education is interrupted."   The organization proceeds to say, "for many students, harsh discipline is part of a vicious cycle. Students who are already struggling are more prone to misbehavior out of frustration. When they do act out they are harshly punished, which in turn leads to further academic struggle and frustration. Stopping the schoolhouse to jailhouse track thus not only promises to treat our children humanely and keep them out of prison, it also promises to be a first step towards offering ever

Does President Obama Really Hate America?

Image
About a month ago, America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani stated that the President cared less about America. According to The Atlantic , Rudy Giuliani is developing a productive sideline in rage-baiting. Fresh off a largely incoherent comment on black-on-black crime following the Michael Brown case, America's Mayor said that President Obama doesn't love America. According to Politico , during a private dinner for Wisconsin governor Scott Walker at the 21 Club: "I do not believe, and I know this is  a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America. He doesn't love you. And he does not love me. He wasn't brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country." After Giuliani's comment was heard around the country, most American's quickly stated that this was simply because President Obama was an African American serving a powerful position. According to The Atlantic , Some liberals
